Saint Lucia's Day, or the Feast of Saint Lucy, is celebrated on December 13. The holiday is celebrated throughout the United States and Europe, predominantly in Scandinavia and Italy. There's several different interpretations of the story, depending on where one is. Saint Lucia in Scandinavia is celebrated by having women represent her in white dresses with a crown or candles on her head. There are many candles carried by people in the church to create light during the dark winter days. In Italy, Saint Lucia's Day is celebrated by having a large feast at church.
